We are a dedicated nonprofit organization focused on prioritizing the vision of Morro Bay and its residents. Our mission is to preserve the Morro El property, and foster a sense of community and collaboration, while adding it to the National Register of Historic Places. UPDATES
MOVING FORWARD! - On August 25th our City Council voted to go forward with the purchase. Escrow will close on October 31, 2026. We can now begin to imagine what our new Community Civic Center will look like. Share your creative dreams with us, and join Friends of Morro Elementary in helping finance the Community's vision.

For decades Morro Bay community members have utilized the sport fields and playground at the Morro Elementary site. Losing the Morro Elementary fields would result in children and adults losing fields to host their games and tournaments.
